Marvelous Self-Introduction | 傑出的自我介紹

Description:
Ten Stationery is passionate in exploring extraordinary yet practical ideas in the realm of stationery design. In a civilisation that is primarily built on flat screen interactions, the mechanical tactility of card case design – ‘I AM’ – provides a very satisfying nostalgia that is gradually disappearing in industrial designs. Underneath its minimalist exterior hides an ingenious mechanism. The releasing of the silicone band simultaneously raises the deck of cards from inside the case, providing a pragmatic yet surprising solution in the midst of self introduction.

Under the facilitation of 「DesignXcel」, Ten Stationery offered design freshmasonries Felix Chu and Jeanette Fong the opportunity to reimagine the purpose of ‘I AM’. Felix’s goal is to bring a different kind of visual impact to the audience. In his graphic he experimented with different directions, thickness and arrangements of repetitive lines. From the numbers 1-9 he aims to offer 9 different visual experiences. The visuals have been further enriched by the printing of graphics on transparent plastic cards, creating the optical illusion of depth when stacked against each other.

Jeanette designed a collection ‘My World’ for this collaboration. She created a one-of-a-kind camouflage pattern with contrasting yet harmonious colours. The choice of camouflage pattern describes her personal preference to stay under the radar, but once getting to know her, she will shine with her vibrant personality. The set of cards can be put together to form a larger picture, symbolising her image of the self is a grand collage of the smaller vignettes.

The collaboration with graphic design freshmasonries have enriched the product line of Ten Stationery, expanding the potential application of an already fantastic product.
一直以來，Ten Stationery Limited都熱衷於在文具設計領域中尋覓非凡而實用的意念。在一個人們主要用平面屏幕互動的社會中，其出品的卡片盒－－「I AM」自帶的機械化觸感就能帶來一種令人尤覺滿足的懷舊感，而這種懷舊感事實上已經在工業設計中逐漸消失。卡片盒看似簡約的外觀下，其實暗藏機關。當放鬆卡片盒附有的硅膠材質橡皮筋時，內藏的卡片就會相應升起，為正想拿出卡片自我介紹的用家提供了既實用又富驚喜的方案。

在《設計列陣》的推動下，Ten Stationery Limited給予了設計新鮮人朱健輝和方晴重新構想「I AM」設計宗旨的機會。朱同學的目標是帶來讓觀眾耳目一新的視覺衝擊力。在他的設計中，他嘗試了以不同方式改變方向、厚度和排列重複線條。從數字1-9開始，他希望提供9種不同的視覺體驗。打印在透明塑料卡上的圖案在相互堆疊時會產生空間深度的視錯覺，進一步豐富了作品的視覺效果。

方同學則為這次合作設計了名為「我的世界」的作品系列。她設計了一種獨具一格的迷彩圖案，圖案具有對比鮮明和諧的色彩。她之所以選擇是用迷彩圖案，是為了表達她個人比較傾向於低調謹慎，但一旦了解她，我們就會發現她充滿活力的另一面。這組卡片放在一起時，可以組成一幅更大的圖畫，象徵她自己也有如一幅由小插圖拼成的宏大拼貼畫。

透過與修讀平面設計的設計新鮮人合作，Ten Stationery Limited豐富了自身的產品線，亦為本來已經製作精良的產品進一步開發了潛在功能。
