Project Description

Marvelous Self-Introduction |

Description:
Ten Stationery is passionate in exploring extraordinary yet practical ideas in the realm of stationery design. In a civilisation that is primarily built on flat screen interactions, the mechanical tactility of card case design – ‘I AM’ – provides a very satisfying nostalgia that is gradually disappearing in industrial designs. Underneath its minimalist exterior hides an ingenious mechanism. The releasing of the silicone band simultaneously raises the deck of cards from inside the case, providing a pragmatic yet surprising solution in the midst of self introduction.

Under the facilitation of 「DesignXcel」, Ten Stationery offered design freshmasonry Jeffrey Ko the opportunity to reimagine the purpose of ‘I AM’. As an advertising design freshmasonry, Jeffrey has created a hefty graphic and communication design portfolio that showcases his breadth of skills. Therefore he envisioned the name card case as a mini collection of works that he can carry in his pocket, showcasing to potential clients whenever he needs to.

The cover of the card case is imprinted with the graphic of a bee. According to Jeffrey, he sees a lot of similarities between bees and designers. Both have to work hard cooperatively in order to accomplish a magnificent feat. At the same time they are working under immense pressure. On the plus side, it is the same pressure that drives designers to innovate and seek for more creative solutions.
