Marvelous Self-Introduction | 傑出的自我介紹


Ten Stationery Limited is passionate in exploring extraordinary yet practical ideas in the realm of stationery design. In a civilisation that is primarily built on flat screen interactions, the mechanical tactility of card case design – ‘I AM’ – provides a very satisfying nostalgia that is gradually disappearing in industrial designs. Underneath its minimalist exterior hides an ingenious mechanism. The releasing of the silicone band simultaneously raises the deck of cards from inside the case, providing a pragmatic yet surprising solution in the midst of self introduction.

Under the facilitation of 「DesignXcel」, Ten Stationery Limited offered design freshmasonry Melaine Wong the opportunity to reimagine the purpose of ‘I AM’. She applied her extensive knowledge on millennial lifestyles to this collaboration, producing a pocketable deck of cards printed with different motivational quotes for the necessary emotional boost on-the-go. The graphic design was based on her previous university project ‘Weekend Treats’, in which she designed a set of chocolate packaging that targets specifically to the lifestyles of young working professionals.

The graphic design of the cards features stylish geometric shapes and patterns that reference the pop and fun nature of Memphis style, which corresponds to millennials’ intrinsic need to be stylish and presentable. To top if off, the cover of the card case is imprinted with the bold words of ‘Good Vibes Only’. The bold, self-assuring statement definitely helps lift people off their emotional trench.

The minimalist aesthetic of ‘I AM’ is very adaptable across different collaborations, which successfully highlights its uniqueness and individuality, and the meticulous engineering even elevates the image of the collaborated party further.

一直以來,Ten Stationery Limited都熱衷於在文具設計領域中尋覓非凡而實用的意念。在一個人們主要用平面屏幕互動的社會中,其出品的卡片盒--「I AM」自帶的機械化觸感就能帶來一種令人尤覺滿足的懷舊感,而這種懷舊感事實上已經在工業設計中逐漸消失。卡片盒看似簡約的外觀下,其實暗藏機關。當放鬆卡片盒附有的硅膠材質橡皮筋時,內藏的卡片就會相應升起,為正想拿出卡片自我介紹的用家提供了既實用又富驚喜的方案。

在《設計列陣》的推動下,Ten Stationery Limited給予了設計新鮮人黃芷盈重新構想「I AM」設計宗旨的機會。她將自己對千禧年代人們生活方式的廣泛知識運用到這次合作中,製作了一套便攜式卡片,上面印有不同的勵志短句,讓用家必要時可以在路途上給自己打打氣。這些平面設計以她之前的大學專題項目「Weekend Treats」為藍本,其中,她設計了一套巧克力包裝,專門針對年輕在職專業人士的生活方式。

卡片的圖形設計具有時尚的幾何形狀和圖案,參考孟菲斯流行風格和當中有趣的元素,這與千禧一代對於顯得有時尚感和體面的內在需求相對應。如果合上蓋子,我們會看見卡片盒的封面上印有「Good Vibes Only」的大膽字樣。這樣大膽又自信的宣言無疑有助於振奮人們的情緒。

「I AM」的極簡主義美學在不同的合作中皆能與對方成功融合,成功突出其獨特性和個性,細緻的工序甚至有助進一步提升合作夥伴的形象。
